The Indians lies deep in the Santa Lucia mountains in the Arroyo Seco watershed. To get there by car, one must cross the Hunter Liggett military reservation (although it is no longer necessary – on most days anyway – to go through military checkpoints and show drivers license and proof of insurance, etc. it is still a good idea to have these things handy). To reach Hunter Liggett take Jolon Rd. from Hwy. 101 or the Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd. from Hwy. 1.
