We’ve been getting questions about why so many firetrucks and dozers have been headed south through Big Sur with lights and sirens ablaze this evening. They are on their way to the Limekiln Creek area where a small fire was reported around 4:30 this afternoon. Depending on who you listen to, the fire was either near the Hermitage or near the Limekiln Campground. It’s reported to have been about an acre in size and possibly related to gunfire in the area. Since there isn’t any new information on any of the usual official and unofficial fire sites (see our links page), it’s probably out, or close to out, by now.
