The shortest way into the South Fork of the Big Sur River is over the scenic de Angulo Trail
Tucked way up out of the way along the upper South Fork Big Sur River, this is not a camp that draws a crowd. The surrounding area (including Pick Creek) is well worth exploring, however.
Approached from Big Sur Station by way of the Pine Ridge and Big Sur trails it is nearly 20 miles, but by taking the steep de Angulo trail over the Coast Ridge the distance can be cut to less than 12 miles. Approached from Arroyo Seco Campground via the Marble Peak trail (probably the easier route) it is 13 miles.
