Although there are some nice views of the Double Cone and Window to be had, this is not the most attractive camp in the Santa Lucias. For one thing it’s accessible by car for those with keys to the Coast Ridge Rd. and the road detracts somewhat from the wilderness experience. A fair number of people do elect to camp here, though. Particularly equestrians and hunters. Look for it 10 miles up the Coast Ridge Rd. from Ventana.
To each their own …..
The camp itself is pretty much just a wide spot in the road, but there’s a parking area and other flat ground nearby with a lot more room.
